How to play Sokoban
Sokoban, "warehouse keeper" in Japanese, is one of the most famous puzzles ever. The rules fit in one line: the worker walks up, down, left and right and can only PUSH boxes, one at a time, never pull them. The level is done when every box sits on a target.
That's where the challenge comes from: a box pushed into a corner never moves again, two boxes side by side against a wall block each other. Before every push, ask yourself "which side can I grab it from next?". If you get it wrong, no problem: Undo goes back one move at a time, forever.
150 levels in 6 worlds
- 📦 Warehouse: you start with a single box and learn not to get it stuck.
- ⚓ Harbor: three boxes among the containers, you need to start planning ahead.
- 🏜️ Desert and ❄️ Glacier: bigger rooms and up to four boxes.
- 🌴 Jungle and 🌋 Volcano: five or six boxes, narrow corridors, for true experts.
Every level was generated and then verified by an automatic solver that knows the minimum number of pushes: match it and you earn three stars. Your progress stays saved on your device.
Level editor with logic check
In the editor you draw walls, boxes, targets and the worker with your finger or mouse. While you build, the logic check verifies everything: one worker only, as many boxes as targets, a closed warehouse and no box starting on a square with no way out. Then a solver tries the moves for you and tells you whether the level really can be solved, in how many pushes, and shows you how. You can save your levels, share them with a link or import them in the XSB text format used by every Sokoban game.
Tips for solving the hardest levels
Never push a box into a corner that isn't a target, and don't put it against a wall unless there are targets along that wall: from there it can only slide. Free the boxes blocking the way first, place the ones near the innermost targets last, and remember the worker must always be able to walk around a box to change direction. If a box gets stuck, the game circles it in red and warns you right away.
